General standards 

We aim to ensure that all guests have a peaceful, relaxing stay at St Marguerite.  
 
You will be provided with: 
 
A clean, comfortable room for the duration of your stay complete with tea and coffee-making facilities, free-view television, fresh towels every three days for stays in excess of that duration; 
 
If chosen a generous, home-cooked breakfast made from high-quality ingredients; 
 
An en-suite shower room and toilet, stocked with towels, shower gel and toilet paper, cleaned every day you are with us. A hairdryer is also provided in every room. 
 
You can be assured of the highest levels of service and attention to detail while you are with us. 
 
In return, when staying at St Marguerite, we would ask you to treat it as you would your own home. In cases of bad behaviour, nuisance or rudeness to guests or proprietors, or excessive noise, you may be asked to leave the premises without any refund of your costs. We also reserve the right to make a charge for additional cleaning in the event that a room is left in an excessively dirty or damaged state. Naturally, we hope we never have to use these measures against any guest. 
 
 
 
Reservations 
We would remind you that a reservation means you have entered into a legally-binding contract with us. Therefore you will charged 50% (100% 1 night stay)of the total cost of your stay here at St Marguerite at the time of booking. We take full amount on all bookings not made direct though this website. 
 
We therefore advise you to take out adequate travel insurance to protect yourself in the event that you have to cancel. Especially if you are prevented to stay with us by Covid-19. 
 
Of course if we have to cancel you will receive a full refund. 
Damage, 
All damage to the property must be reported via email or messenger as soon as possible. The owners reserve the right to charge guests for any damage caused by them or any person whom they have brought into the Accommodation. 
 
We also reserve the right to charge for any excessive cleaning that may be required, for example spilled takeaway food, (which is not allowed in the rooms) spilled on furniture or walls.Click on this text to edit it. 
Arrival & Departures 
We welcome guests between 16:00 and 20:00, earlier or later arrivals are possible by prior arrangement. If you are able to give us your expected time of arrival, we would be very grateful. 
 
If you arrive very late, and have not called us to advise your expected time of arrival, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to gain access to St Marguerite, so it is in your interests to advise us if you expect to arrive late. 
 
 
 
Please vacate your room by 10:00 on the day of your departure. Again, we will be flexible with the departure time by prior arrangement. 
Dogs. 
 
Small dogs (Spaniel being largest) are allowed to stay at £5.00 per night per dog maximum of two 
 
Though we are now a dog friendly accommodation, we ask that dog owners respect the fact that other guests may not like dogs or may be wary of them. 
 
Dogs are not to be left in the room unaccompanied at any time. 
 
Dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture. 
 
Your dog must always be kept on a short lead and under control whilst on the premises. 
 
Well behaved dogs can accompany you in the dining room 
 
Dogs must be kept as quiet as possible during your stay so that they do not upset the other guests staying at St Marguerite 
 
On request we can provide a dog bag containing covers, towels, and a bowl for use during your stay. 
 
Please ensure that your dog is dry before entering the building. 
 
We can provide you with a source of water (10lt watering can) so you can wash them down before drying them. 
 
Dogs must be exercised properly during your stay to avoid any accidents. 
 
Dogs are allowed on Fairy Cove (just the other side of the harbour) and Goodrington North Beach, (a 10 minute walk from St Marguerite}, Hollicombe, Meadford beaches all year round. 
 
Dogs are allowed on Paignton and Preston beaches from 1st October to 30th April. 
 
All guests have the right to relax and enjoy their holiday in a calm and safe environment
 
Guests with noisy or un-house trained dogs who disregard these these terms and conditions will be asked to leave, and will not be entitled to a refund. 
 
We reserve the right to charge for any damage to the property of St Marguerite this includes for any excessive cleaning that may be required. 
 
Cancellations

Meals 
The choice of breakfast; fruit, cereal, fruit juice a freshly home-cooked full English breakfast with toast, freshly-brewed tea and/or coffee. 
 
You may eat takeaway food in the dining room, NOT in the room  
 
• The composition of the breakfast may vary according to availability of ingredients. 
 
Smoking 
In accordance with UK law, St Marguerite is a no-smoking guest house. Guests are welcome to smoke on the veranda, or in the garden, where ashtrays will be provided. 
 
Guests found smoking inside the premises will be asked to leave and will have no part of the cost of their stay refunded. Additionally, if a guest has been smoking in their room, they will be charged an additional fee of up to £150 for thorough cleaning of the room. 
 
Pets 
We are now accepting dogs maximum of two, please read terms and conditions below. You will need to ring St Marguerite 01803 698376 regarding bringing a dog/s.  
Privacy Policy 
 
The forms you complete and send to us are transferred to our secure internal database. 
 
Our database can only be accessed from secure (password-protected) equipment. In addition to this the database itself is also password protected. 
 
St Marguerite will only contact if you have signed up to our mailing list, we keep contact minimal
