Blue Flag Awards for Paignton's Beaches!
If you're looking for clean beaches for your holiday, Paignton's the place to come! Ten beaches in Torbay have been awarded Blue Flag status for their cleanliness making ours the cleanest beaches in the country. Included in Torbay's ten Blue Flag beaches are Paignton,Preston and Goodrington, all just a few minutes walk from St Marguerite. The awards were announced in May 2011, and are great news for anyone looking to take family holidays here.

Olympic Torch coming to Paignton - 20th May 2012!
The Olympic Torch will be carried through Paignton and Torquay on the 20th May 2012 on its way to London.
The route for the Olympic Torch Relay's 8,000 mile passage around Britain was announced on the 7th November 2011. The torch will start at Land's End on the 19th May 2012, stop overnight at Plymouth and then pass through Paignton before stopping at Exeter on the 20th May 2012. It will take 70 days to visit all parts of Great Britain, carried by 8,000 inspirational torch-bearers, before arriving in London for the opening ceremony on the 27th July 2012
